I'm always proud to say it ...  
Manhattan, IL is my hometown.  Manhattan is located smack in the heart of Will County, IL.  It's a town proud of its history, its present and future ... and deep Irish roots.
Year 'round, Manhattan residents will proudly tell you that their town is the home of the "Manhattan Irish Fest", an acclaimed festival that's been running since 1995. 
This year's Fest is being held on March 3rd and 4th, 2017.
Like the previous year, this year's Fest is being held in the parking lot located just north of Manhattan Fire Station 81.
The list of activities taking place in this Fest are long and varied.  There's something planned for you, whether young or old, on each day of the Fest.  
Some of this year's activities are:
  • Manhattan Historical Society Museum Display
Friday, March 3rd: 5 pm - 9 pm 
Saturday, March 4th: 10 am - 5 pm
Displays contributed by prominent Manhattan area families
  • Music:
Friday, March 3rd, 5 pm to 11 pm:  
Entertainment Tent - Park Road
5:15 - 6:30 pm - Patrick Otto & Katie Byrne
6:45 - 8 pm - Three Men in Kilts
8:30 - 10:30 pm - Whiskey of the Damned

Mini Golf - Fun for the entire family

Holy smokes there are a ton of fun activities going on at the Irish Festival in Manhattan IL.  What interesting names of the bands - Three Men in Kilts and Whiskey of the Damned. Sounds Irish to this Lassie!

This is exactly what I miss most about Chicago! From the time I started attending a Catholic school, it was fun on St. Patrick's Day and the nuns called it my namesake day. Nuns were nicest to me on St. Patrick's Day - I even got to wear a green carnation! In Chicago, everyone is Irish!
