What a wonderful idea-- but I must add, sadly in todays environment; hopefully these "elves" all have background clearances?
Faith: Have Faith! I'm hoping too that they have this under control. If history tells me anything, it is. New Lenox typically does things well, no matter the program or project. I agree that this is a wonderful service being provided. Have a great holiday ...
Gene
What a great opportunity for parents and their children. You might want to indicate the credentials of the elves in your marketing piece to put parents at ease.
Connecticut Home Mortgage: I'll see what I can find out ... and add if I have something credible to report. Thanks for the suggestion ...
Gene
Gene, my husband was the executive director for the Bartlett Park District (Bartlett IL) for 31 years. And yes, these peple usually have had a background check.
Gene...Wait, I'm confused! Shouldn't those elves be working triple shifts making toys during December?
What a great program. Wish it was available when my kids were little. Happy holidays.
Howard
Gene- Question: How much do you think UPS will charge me to ship a 6 and 10 year old to IL? If it's under $100, we got a deal. I need to do a little XMAS shopping without the young ones around.
I think Gene must be one of these little elves! He's such a pround Grandpapa I imagine him with a room of grand children he would be in his element!
Tammie: Know Bartlett well! I keep learning new things about you. And I think you need to head back this way so I can meet you ... and you can re-acquaint yourself with the area. Let me know when you're dropping by!
Howard: I think this is the elves 2nd job ... they work on the gifts and toys during the day! And I was wondering where this great program was when my boys were little! Have a great holiday ...
Stephanie: Spoken like a true and busy mom! Enjoy the time you have with them. I can tell you from experience ... it's over WAY too soon.
I'll have to see if my feet will fit in those curly-toe shoes, Corinne! I think your idea sounds fun.. Hope your husband made it home safe and sound for the holiday ...
Gene
That is a fun idea! I wonder if we have something like this around my area! I will have to check into it!
Hi Gene - A very valuable service to enable parents to have a few hours to get the kids into the Christmas spirit while the parents have time to do some shopping.
This is a really good idea to give young families time to shop during the holidays.
Hi Gene, this is a great localism post that serves a great this time of the year. Well done!
Wow, Gene, what a super idea. If I was a parent in the area, I would love that. Congrats on the feature, too.
Gene, sounds like a great event for the kids and an opportunity for the parents to do some shopping.
10 bucks per night per child sounds like a good deal to me and a great local event to attend.
Four hours of babysitting, pizza and they will entertain you, sounds like something I might want to do.
I checked with Santa and he checked his 'NAUGHTY and NICE list...This made the nice list no problem...Gene
Rosalie: Definitely worth a check! It sounds fun for the kids .. and a great relief and benefit for the parents. Hope you discover something near you ...
Marc: I agree. No having to find a babysitter .. and dinner is served. Kudos to the NL Park District for offering this fantastic service to the community ...
Cheryl: I'm hoping lots of park districts see this and follow suit in the future. What a great way to help their community families out ...
Sandy: Thank you much! But the real applause should be for the New Lenox Park District. What a fabulous service they are providing!
Debbie: I was surprised to see this Featured .. but enjoying it!! And I hope the little extra exposure brings this novel idea to other organizations and park districts. It's one that would be very well received. Have a great holiday!
Michael: Definitely sounds like something the kids will enjoy ... and the parents be more than happy to offer them. Stress-free shopping or time to spend accomplishing holiday things ..
Eileen: I had to look at the price of the service a few times, it's such a great price! And offered right in your area ... who could do better??
Morgan: I'm thinking of checking MYSELF in on this. Fun AND pizza for $10?? I'm all over it!
Whew! Glad to hear Santa gave this the thumbs-up, Richie! Hoping you and yours have a very wonderful and blessed holiday ...
Gene
Gene, what an absolute great service to busy parents trying to get their Christmas shopping done!
Connie: I sure wish they'd had this when our boys were little .. what an wonderfully easy and stress-less way to accomplish what's needing to be done. I'm hoping other towns are taking note ...
