Although Marla Schneider writes and aims her post specifically for the Glenview, IL market ... the information and suggestions contained within the post hold true no matter the location of the seller's home. Detoxing, cleaning, and ridding your home of obnoxious odors is just plain smart for many obvious reasons. You definitely improve the chances of selling your home.
But I commented to Marla, that there is another very valid reason to clean your home with "green" (en
vironmentally friendly) and fragrance-free products.
I have related this before on AR, but I believe it bears repeating. For those that suffer from severe migraines or respiratory ailments ... odors and toxins ... many times of a nature unseen or undetected by others ... these odors and toxins CAN trigger a severe migraine or respiratory reaction immediately upon entrance into a home.
And quite simply ... if a potential buyer cannot enter or stay in your home for any duration because of an odor or fragrance of some kind, they cannot ... will not ... view the home or consider buying it.
It just makes sense to avoid the possibility of such a situation through the use of fragrance-free, environmentally friendly products for cleaning when selling your home.
