"Mission: Jammies"_ ... to be exact ...
Hannah is hoping to collect 500 pairs or more of children's pajamas before the end of
June. All donated pajamas, "jammies", will go to Lamb's Fold, a local charity in Joliet that serves homeless women and children and victims of domestic violence, as well as other charities in need. Hannah volunteers at Lamb's Fold as part of the youth group at her church. She has seen firsthand that many of the children at this shelter do not have pajamas to sleep in ... or enjoy the comfort that those pajamas can bring.
Hannah has devised and implemented a plan to help children in need of the warmth and security provided by new pajamas. And, she is hoping to receive enough pajamas ... or contributions of dollars to purchase "jammies" with ... to also help children beyond those found in the Joliet area. If she receives over 500 pairs of pajamas, she is sending the additional "jammies" to Japan to help the children suffering the affects of the recent earthquake and sunami.
How is Hannah accomplishing this? This resourceful Joliet teen has made donations to her cause easy and possible in a number of ways:
- "Jammie" donations. Childrens warm pajamas, sizes newborn to 16, can be dropped off directly to Hannah. For information on how to accomplish a drop-off, please send Hannah an email via the Contact Page on her website, www.missionjammies.org. Donations must be received before the end of June, 2011.
- Purchase a "Mission: Jammies" rubber bracalet. Bracelets cost: $4.00. For each bracelet purchased, $3.60 will be used to purchase new jammies for charity. Hannah, her mother, and brothers will all be selling the bracelets. Please contact Hannah through her email on her website, www.missionjammies.org, for further info.
- Donations can be made to the "Mission: Jammies" project via PayPal. Please go to the "Mission" Jammies" website and click on the link for "donation". Your PayPal contribution via the website will be a secure method of contribution to this cause.
- 2 Special "drop-off" days are being planned soon. Watch for an announcement regarding the dates and times on Hannah's www.missionjammies.org website.
