Activities and events are being held all over America to increase the number of women that seek-out mammograms and exams to safeguard their health.
Silver Cross Hospital Center for Women's Health is offering a unique way for women to accomplish this health-saving measure. The Center is hosting Ladies Only Mammogram Parties.
Each Ladies Only Mammogram Party is held at the Silver Cross Hospital Center for Women's Health, located at 1870 Silver Cross Boulevard (Rte. 6 & I-355), in New Lenox, IL after regular Center hours. Up to 20 women have a chance to enjoy desserts, wine, a mini-massage, and the camaraderie of other women during the party.
All participants must be due for their yearly mammogram, over the age of 40 years, and have no history of breast cancer. They must also have a primary care physician or OB/GYN currently available to receive the results from their exam(s). Each woman must present an accepted insurance card in order to take part.
Each Ladies Only Mammogram Party includes a bone density screening, a screening mammogram, and a consultation with a pelvic rehabilitation therapist.
Over 211,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. The Silver Cross Hospital Center for Women's Health hopes to place women more at ease during their exams by hosting their Ladies Only Mammogram Parties, thus making them more likely to pursue these life-saving exams on the recommended routine basis.
