The importance of having hospital and healthcare services within a community cannot be overstated. Whether it's providing 24-hour emergency medical services, sources for community health education, immunizations, physicals, exercise and fitness opportunities, rehabilitation opportunities, counseling, or other services ... hospitals and medical healthcare servicers enhance the safety and quality of life of all those living and visiting the region.
To that end, Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL recently announced that it has 
created the Edward Ambulance Services. This new service is being offered in tandem with Community Emergency Medical Service Inc., located in Southfield, Michigan. Non-911 ambulance transportation will be provided to all of the Edward Hospital suburban Chicagoland service area.
Edward Ambulance Service will begin operations on September 1st of this year. Officials from this new venture promise that all non-911 requests will be handled within 30 minutes or less of receiving contact. Area rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living centers, and hospice care providers will all be locations to which patients can arrange to be transported.
Transfers from Edward Hospital's Plainfield, IL located ER to the main facility at Edward Hospital in Naperville, plus other area hospitals, can also be arranged through the new service beginning September 1st. Transportation will also be available to the Edward Hospital helipad for those needing to be air-lifted/transported. Approximately 30 new emergency medical personnel (trained by Edward Hospital) will be hired. 4 new, fully-equipped ambulances will provide for patients' safe journey.
The newly-announced venture between Edward Hospital and Community Emergency Medical Service, Inc. is the first of its' kind for the Chicagoland area.
